Drivers License/State ID - International Programs Office

To apply for a State of Michigan Drivers License/State ID you will need to visit the local Secretary of State office and provide Drivers License/State ID documentation.

You must make an appointment before going to the office. You can do that online HERE.

If you do not have a social security number, then you will need to visit the Social Security office and get a letter of ineligibility. The local Social Security office is located at 300 S. Front Street in Marquette.

As part of the application process you may need to take a written test and once you pass that some students are required to take a driving test before a drivers license will be issues.
