• Bill Digneit - Department Head & Co-Director of Theatre & Dance. Currently the production manager for the annual Live Design International Conference & Trade show in Las Vegas. 
• Mike Andary - Professor Construction Management. Journeyman by trade, but launched NMU's only program specific career fair where hundreds of corporations come to recruit NMU students. 
• Jane (Wankmiller) Harris - Director of the Forensic Research Outdoor Station (FROST). Before NMU, Harris worked for the Michigan State Police within the Statewide Network of Agency Photos (SNAP) Unit, where she conducted facial recognition searches for the purpose of developing investigative leads.

  • The average financial aid award for NMU students is $12,300.
• Payment plans are available to help break down your tuition, fees and housing costs into smaller, manageable payments or defer payments until your financial aid is finalized.

• Students can enroll in 12 to 16 credits per semester for one flat rate.
• Professional advisers work closely with students to map an efficient path to degree completion to reduce costs.
• NMU generously applies prior credit earned from AP, CLEP, or past college enrollment to help reduce time to completion and costs.

What is it?

We believe you should have an easy and affordable way to protect the investment your family has made in higher education. That’s why Northern Michigan University has partnered with GradGuard. GradGuard’s Tuition Insurance can help students and parents avoid a financial loss due to an unexpected medical withdrawal from school. Tuition Insurance can broaden the school’s existing refund policy. The tuition Insurance can reimburse tuition, room, board, and other eligible fees if a student withdraws at any time during the covered term.
