NMU HOMECOMING SET

            MARQUETTE, Mich.—Northern Michigan University’s 2011 homecoming celebration will feature activities for NMU students, alumni and community members Sept. 25-Oct. 1.  

The annual Dead River Games with NMU student groups will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at the Dead River Bridge. The king and queen competition, emceed by comedian Dwayne Perkins, will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, in the University Center Great Lakes Rooms.

The political science department will host a presentation by Brian Majewski about U.S. policy goals in Latin America at 3 p.m., Friday, Sept. 30, in Reynolds Recital Hall. The homecoming parade starts at 5:30 p.m. Friday, with its traditional route down Third Street from Fair Avenue. All-college alumni receptions will follow from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Landmark Inn.

            Saturday’s events include tailgating from 2-4 p.m. at the Superior Dome before the 4 p.m. football game against Wayne State University. The fifth-quarter alumni reception will take place at 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn.
