MARQUETTE, Mich.- Sarah Nixon of Mancelona is the recipient of the Betty J. Gunnes Endowed Scholarship at Northern Michigan University for the 2014-2015 academic year.

To qualify for the scholarship students must be pursuing a degree in an art or design program and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. First preference is given to students in the Art and Design Department studying interior or environmental design. Second preference is given to any student in art and design program.

The Betty Gunnes Endowed Scholarship was established in 2001 by family and friends of Betty Gunnes.
