MARQUETTE, Mich.- Cole Swiston of Washburn, Wis. is the recipient of the Bill and Vivian Buccalo Medical Science Scholarship at Northern Michigan University for the 2014-2015 academic year.

To be eligible for the scholarship students must be a junior or senior majoring in a pre-medical or pre-dental program. The student must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and be demonstrating active participation in the NMU pre-professional program designated through club activities, volunteer work and physician observation experiences.

The Bill and Vivian Buccalo Medical Science Scholarship was established in 2012 by Vivian and William Buccalo in memory of Betty Louellen Newman, 1928-1945.
