MARQUETTE, Mich.- Marissa Brooks of Farmington is the recipient of the Nellie Johnson Memorial Scholarship at Northern Michigan University for the 2014-2015 academic year.

To qualify for the scholarship students must be majoring in elementary education and student teaching in a regular classroom.

The Nellie M. Johnson Memorial Scholarship was established in 1991 by the friends and family of Nellie Mae Johnson.
