Brazilian Pianist/Singer Performs in Marquette

MARQUETTE, Mich.— Eliane Elias, a Brazilian pianist/singer and five-time Grammy Award nominee, will perform as part of the Northern Nights series at Northern Michigan University. Her concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 14, in Kaufman Auditorium.

 Elias is best known for her talents in jazz, pop, classical and Brazilian music. Her distinctive sound blends her Brazilian roots, “alluring” voice and instrumental jazz, classical and compositional skills. With 23 albums to date, she also is a four-time “Gold Disc Award” recipient and three-time winner of “Best Vocal Album” in Japan.

Advance tickets are $5 for students/kids, $13 for faculty/staff and seniors over 60, and $18 for the general public.  Tickets at the door are an additional $2.  Tickets are available at all NMU EZ Ticket Outlets, by calling 227-1032, or online at www.nmu.edu/tickets.
