Demography Challenges in Michigan Discussed

Brendan Mullan, a demographer and sociology professor at Michigan State University, will present “Demography as Destiny? Challenges for Michigan” at Northern Michigan University. His talk will begin at 3 p.m. Monday, March 30, in 1100 Jamrich Hall. Mullan will explain how U.S. demographic dynamics play out in Michigan and what these trends mean for the state's demographic future. The event is free and open to the public.

Mullan’s current research focuses on the societal dynamics of globalization in regard to economics, demographics and culture. He also looks at the causes, content and consequences of international migration and the interplay between globalization and demography.
