Forum Focuses on International Cooperation

Wednesday 14, 2018

NMU faculty and staff are invited to a forum to brainstorm ideas for increasing international cooperation. The divisions of Academic Affairs and Extended Learning & Community Engagement are hosting the event from 1-3 p.m. Thursday, March 1, in the West Science's Mead Auditorium. They will solicit input from attendees to help identify new initiatives to expand international cooperation, increase the foreign student population and create new opportunities for shared programs and exchanges.

NMU alumnus Todd Holmstrom will open the forum. The U.P. native has spent most of his career working for the federal government overseas, including serving as the United States Consul General in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and the deputy chief of mission in N’Djamena, Chad. Holmstrom received a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2017.

The forum will be recorded and available via mediasite live.  The link will be posted to the Extended Learning and Community Engagement webpage (http://www.nmu.edu/extendedlearning/extended-learning-home) at the conclusion of the forum.
